GODFATHER CHAPTERS - THE WANDERING HOBO STORY - 1999 to 2005!

##########################################################

"I find adventure everywhere,
and friends with whom I'd like to share.
This is my stop along the way.
Don't really know how long I'll stay.
Stop over. The world is my friend.
Stop over along the road without end.
Travelling around from town to town.
Sometimes I think I'll settle down.
But I know I'd hunger to be free.
Rovin' is the only life for me.
A-driftin'. The world is my friend.
I'm travelin' along the road without end."

"These words from a TV Series called the "Littlest Hobo" have stuck with me and will for the rest of my life", says Charlie! Thanks to his many travelling internet friends who have been the inspiration for him to recreate this past website to share his travel adventures with! This original website so fittingly had begun it's existance on Thanksgiving Day, October 11, 1999 and had made its' debut as "The Wandering Hobo." For the traveling section of the book, we will keep using the name. as that is what Charlie's life was all about in this area.

Happy Trails to ALL!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend, October, 1999... Foreword

Destination Unknown... "You never know where you are going until you get there!"

The story of the Wandering Hobo is about my new found freedom after a divorce and desires to travel N. America. As I tell the story of my divorce, I always say that was it was her way or the highway and through what unfolded I found myself looking at the highway. I would look at an atlas and wonder what life was like in different parts of Canada and the USA. I took on the theme of a "Wandering Hobo", just an ordinary guy travelling through life, sharing the adventure through words and time pictures of the journey. Life is full of twists and turns and surprises! The Texas road trip proved to be a turning point in my life, a milestone. My following trips gave me for soul searching and to find myself again. I was never really lost but perhaps really, it was more of a time out to set new goals in life and to enjoy visiting new places as each day unfolded. As a traveler through life, you never know what is around the corner and as you take time to reflect and look back, you will not likely believe of where you ended up today. - Charlie, the Godfather

January, 1998... Looking Ahead...

A milestone in my life occurred... D-I-V-O-R-C-E. After the breakup and divorce, it was time to begin a new chapter in the life. Time to reorganize and to rebuild. Goals were established such as to travel as much as possible, to continue to invest in the stock market and to give dating a 5 year try. Then the plan was to look back and to see where life had gone once the five years have passed. I find that the number 5 appears to be a number of change. - Charlie, the Godfather

December, 2003... Looking Back...

Looking back now after 5 years, I did travel throughout N. America. The stock market plus an inheritance restored my finances and then some. (In just 5 1/2 yrs. I was 6 times wealthier than what the divorce settlement left me...amazing! I was truly blessed!) I dated many women over that 5 year span. Some were nice and some I ran from and some I am sure ran from me too! Haha... Some personality types just don't match at all. I learned a lot! Life moves forward and doesn't always give you a second chance. On September 13, 2003 another milestone was crossed when I thought that I had met a "right" lady for me. On December 13, 2003, I gave her an engagement ring. - Charlie, the Godfather. I see that number 13 come up Charlie. Isn't that suppose to be an unlucky number? You can take a short cut to read about the rest of what happened in Charlie's second marriage here and how that story turned out...
